Some FAQ's

We know that choosing a preschool for your little one can be tough. Here are some FAQ's to help you out. If you don't see what you are looking for here or have any questions, give us a call or send us an email and we will get back to your soon!

FAQ's

What can my child look forward to at preschool?

Your child can look forward to free play in the classroom and playground, small group centers, circle time, art projects, science experiments, dramatic play, music and songs, cooking actives, practice on names, letters and numbers and so much more!

How does Tuition work?

Annual tuition has been divided up into 10 equal payments to be paid out during the school year. Tuition will be due by the 5th of each month, to avoid a $25 late fee.

What is the school year calendar?

Church Street Community is open from September through June, excluding holidays and inclement weather days. Our program does follow the Red Hook Central School District calendar with exception of a few days.

Is there early or extended child care options?

We do not offer early child care hours. We do have an extended child care program for The Adventurers & Voyagers Classes (3's and 4's) called Lunch Bunch. This program runs Monday, Wednesday and Friday's from 12pm-2pm to help the children prepare for pre-k and kindergarten's longer school days.  This no-commitment program is billed separately from class tuition.

Do i need to provide a snack for my child

Please have the child bring their own snack from home each day. Drinks will be provided by the school! 

Can I schedule a visit to the school?

Parents can schedule a tour of our school by calling our office or sending us an email! Parents and students are also invited to an Orientation Night at the end of August where they can meet the teachers, other students and parents.

What happens if RHSC has a delay?

During inclement weather, we follow Red Hook CSD. If RHCSD is on a 2hr delay, we are on normal schedule, 2hr delay, we open at 10am/10:15a and a 3hr delay (or if RHCSD is closed) we are closed. The Director will communicate delays and closings via Remind, and Church Streets main social media pages. 

Does my child need to be toilet trained to attend?

Children do not need to be potty trained to be enrolled. Parents will need to provide written permission and provide diapers, wipes and changing pad for diaper changing services. If your child is in the process of potty training, we suggest using pull ups. Accidents do happen so we ask all parents to keep a change of clothes in their child's backpack. 

Do you have holiday and birthday celebrations? 

We like to observe the different holidays of the year and various ways that people celebrate them! It can be a valuable learning experience and a lot of fun for the children. If you celebrate a particular holiday or custom and would like to share it with the class, please let us know! 

Does the school hold fundraisers of any sort?

Our program has several fundraisers yearly. We know fundraising can be bothersome, but successful fundraisers help off sets the costs of running the nursery school helping us keep tuition prices affordable. Parent participation is greatly appreciated and we are always open to new ideas!
